Happy Holidays!

So the removalists are here, loading up the sea containers for our big move out to the bush. Thank goodness we will still have the internet. I have already started putting together some ideas for various projects, I just have a last minute race to the craft shops to get what I need before we leave. The list gets longer and longer... (deep sigh).
I will try to do a video tutorial on hand made flowers and a different take on a monogram as wall art. So on that note, have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

Kaisercraft and other off the page pieces

This was a Kaisercraft MDF album that I decorated for someone as a 60th Party guestbook. The best thing about these albums is that you can leave pages for Photos to be inserted later. Bella D rings were decorated with a variety of ribbons for more texture

Vellum and rubons finished with ribbon for someones Baptism.
A Wordbook for my Cousins 21st Birthday. designed and cut on my Pazzles Inspiration machine with the Inspiration software.

Kaisercraft Desktop organiser. painted with Kaisercraft Paint, covered with co-coordinating Stampin Up papers, and finished with Tim Holtz Curio knobs on the Drawers. I loved doing this piece and It has pride of place on myworktable

Kaiser box tissuebox holders. papers glued on with Modge Podge and then coated on top with a few layers of modge as well.

I really enjoy off the page art. it relaxes me yet gives me more focus. I loved making some of these things as gifts and for myself. we are in the process of moving but I hope to have much more time to attempt new things once we get to our new place and the kids go back to school.

Vintage style album layouts

My Father as a child. chipboard circle/bird frame is designed and cut out on my Pazzles Inspiration machine. also used are printted and inked butterflies, martha stewart edge punch and sticky pearls.

My Parents. This LO was done at a workshop at my Local Scrapbooking store, Inspired Crafts and was designed by Mandy Estrelle. It used a flocked transparency sheet and chipboard elements that we inked and used distress crackle on. the pearl borders are from Kaisercraft. once again Printed and inked Butterflies were added.

I had a small Black and white of my Grandmother. I think she looked beautiful in this pic. inked and glimermisted chipboard letters, embellished with matching green Jewels, and trimed some Lace as a border around the pic. Bachground was inked in Tim Holts Crushed Olive distress inks and then glimermisted with the colour Vine (i think)

Family LO, My fater and his 2 sisters. inked and glimmer misted page background. Martha stewart around the page punch and lace strips punch. Prima paper flower and inked and distress crackles chipboard title.

my mothers parents on their wedding day. title and flourish cut on the Pazzles, Kaisercraft Rose buds and pearls, large square paper doiley background.

another Lo of my Mother. done at a workshop at the Local store again. INked and embossed background. Tim Holts flourish die is used, along with Martha stewart punches. inked paper flowers and chipboard from Twiddleybitz.
This Album was created as a visual Record of my parents and their families. My family history on my Fathers side is not that clear as there were many records lost during the war, people moving across the world and people passing away. It fascinates me, as the only few photos our family have are of people I have either never met (because they died before i was born) or don't remember because I was too young when they moved away or left. The most important reason for this album is so I can express my love for my Father who passed away in 2008. I feel closer to him when I work on pictures of him and his Family and I want my children to remember and have some sort of record as well. These layouts are not all magazine worthy, but I did them because I liked them. After all, they are for me:) I will try and give mini tutorials/instructions on some of the layouts.
